When using an Abney level you can either site to an object then check the angle, or set and angle then sight to it.

Simply view through the abney level, sight to a target, then swing the arc on the side until the bubble is in line with the index mark, you can now view the angle you have set on the arc to the side of the abney level.

Graduated 0 to ± 90°, 0 to ± 100% on a stationary arc. Vernier reads to 10'. Scale pointer has friction movement and locks with the turn of a thumb screw. 5x magnification. The eyepiece slides out to focus cross hair and bubble. Objective lens slides out to focus target. 7.5 inches in length with a flat base, and an aluminium arc. Comes with a carry case.
