A simple yet effective way to ensure that the cone on your Magmo Scala Penetrometer is not worn and outside the specifications to meet NZS 4402 and the CETANZ TG1 technical guidelines. 

Sometimes referred to as a "Go/No G Cone Tip Checker", the Stainless Steel Magmo Cone Calibration Test Gauge Card has 4 test points to check for cone wear.

• If the cone can pass right through the large 19.8mm round hole, the cone needs to be replaced.
• If the cone can pass through the 55mm slot, the cone needs to be replaced.  

• Insert the cone into the V-shaped notches and hold the gauge up to the light. A new cone should not touch both sides of either notch. If both sides touch in with V-shape notch, the cone is outside the 30°(±1°) tolerance and needs to be replaced.
