Locating Underground Services Course Aim:
Theory, Practice and Safety, to ensure users are competent to plan, organise, manage and undertake work, where there is a risk of contact with underground energy sources or services, using cable avoidance tools and signal generators.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the theory behind the operation of a Cable Avoidance Tools & Signal Generators (CAT & GENNY).
- Learn to use Cable Avoidance Tools & Signal Generators (CAT & GENNY) to locate, pinpoint & trace underground services.
- Learn to safely conduct activities in accordance with NZ law .
Who Should Attend?
- Employees (managers, supervisors & operators) who are required to plan, organise, manage or undertake work, where there is a risk of contact with buried energy sources or services.

- Classroom based presentation and practical training, locating underground services in the field.
- Certificate will be awarded to those who successfully complete this course.
