The Change Plate is used in levelling to provide a stable mark upon which the level staff can stand when taking readings on soft terrain. Change plates should be used in levelling for Backward, Forward, and Intermediate sightings.

Trig Instruments was the only place in the country I could find a change plate in stock -- I really hadn't expected anyone would have one here. They sent it to me overnight, so I had a less than 18 hours after ordering -- That's service!!!! There is not much you can say about the product, it's just a metal plate, but it's well made and performs exactly as you would expect. All-in-all a fantastic experience.
