Rail companies around the world are demanding more stringent controls on track maintenance to save lives and money on expensive repairs. This has brought about the need for Trig Instruments to develop the easiest to use, most reliable and accurate gauge to measure rail track width and super-elevation.
Working with track and structures managers around the world, we have taken the features that the users of track gauges want and refined them to create what we believe are perfect track gauges.
With a hardwood body that gives warmth of touch on a cold day, that aluminium and steel cannot offer, and the strength required for work on rail systems.
The scales are all made from tough laser etched aluminium. The scales are all available in metric or imperial readings. The only moving part on the gauge is constructed from solid nylon, so it is hard wearing, will not crack or shatter and resists oil, acids, diesel etc.

Well designed gauge

I have been an independent contractor to the rail industry for 40 years around Australia and Europe. In that time I have used just about all the rail gauges available and this one is by far the best. Your gauge is strong, accurate and well designed. Well done.
